This project consists of designing a roundabout at the offset intersection of Mission Road and Myers Street at Jesse Street. The project site is located midway between the Sixth Street and Seventh Street Viaducts. The design of the roundabout, drainage, street and ADA ramp improvements, sidewalk, and bike lanes is being coordinated with an adjacent pedestrian/bicycle project that is being funded with an Active Transportation Program, Cycle 1 (ATP1) grant. The pedestrian and bicycle facilities to be constructed with the ATP1 project include a mixture of 5foot sidewalks, a 10-foot wide bike path, 13-foot-wide shared use path, and an 8-foot wide sidewalk with Continental crosswalks at each approach to the roundabout and on the north and south side of 7th Street. The design of the roundabout will provide for shared use by both bicycles and vehicles. MGE, as managing partner of the MGE/V&A JV is responsible for project management, civil design, and design support during construction services for the project.
