Key Qualifications

Mr. Chen’s extensive experience in the design and construction of bridges includes new design, rehabilitation, seismic retrofitting, and construction management. His design and construction experience includes work on numerous bridge types including; precast and cast-in-place concrete box girders, precast prestressed I-girders, cast-in-place and precast concrete slabs, cast-in-place and precast concrete segmental box girders, cable-stayed, and steel girder bridges. In addition to Managing the firm’s Oakland office and acting as a project engineer or lead engineer for bridge projects, Mr. Chen prepares project specifications and cost estimates for a majority of the firms transportation projects. Mr. Chen is a principal and vice president of the firm, and works both out of MGE’s headquarters office in Sacramento and the branch office in Oakland, CA.
